Good livingSOME SUGGESTIONS FOR HER...

First of all, dress spontaneously.
When shaking hands with somebody, always remove any glove from the hand you intend to use. Avoid wearing striking or even important jewellery in the morning or afternoon.
It is fine to wear a hat anywhere, even in church. High heels are allowed for those women who walk with elegance and grace.
If there is the risk of falling over with each step, forget about wearing high heels.
Miniskirts are not appropriate for all women: it is recommended to evaluate yourself carefully and with a sense of self-criticism. It is forbidden to touch-up your make-up as soon as you sit down at a restaurant. Use the lavatory rooms whenever this will be necessary.

A fine touch-up just prior to leaving the restaurant is, however, allowed. When seated, legs are to be crossed and slightly aslant with respect to the ground.
When choosing from the menu, avoid difficult or refined choices and thinking that it is chic to do as. At the same time, do not order fish and chips at a fine restaurant. Avoid continual remarks related to the quantity of food on each serving, on the uniform of the waiters, on the dust on the chandeliers, on the paintings on the walls or on the cutlery that may well be out of date.
Prior to standing up, place the table-napkin onto the table covering any lipstick marks. When the bill arrives, pretend to be distracted.
Never light your companions cigarette, simply hand him the cigarette lighter or matches. When smoking, do not leave any lipstick marks on the cigarette and do not let it hang from your lips.
Finally, punctuality: thirty minutes is allowed when attending parties and receptions; it is extremely inconvenient at funerals, at the cinema, theatre or if somebody is waiting for you, perhaps even in the rain.
