SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR HIM...
Avoid wearing short socks and try to match the colour of the socks to that of the tie.
Never wear a striped shirt with a chequered jacket. The aesthetic effect is shocking. No to ties that are too wide or made of leather and remember that the knot should not be too large but at the same time, not too small either. Fancy ties go well with plain coloured shirts.
To avoid errors, select ties with sober designs: stripes or small polka-dots.
Avoid mentioning the designer of the various accessories worn. This is suggested in order not to seem too ridiculous in attempting to imitate a celebrity that may be famous for his clothing.
Avoid putting your initials on each articles of clothing. Apart, of course, from the wedding band, rings and hats are out of fashion. The singlet remains, for any occasion, an article that is not very elegant.
The woman always enters a restaurant before the man but it is he who leads her across the room. Help the woman remove her coat. Sit down after she has sat down.
At the end of the evening at a restaurant with a woman, ask for the bill or make your way to the cashier; alternatively, leave the corresponding sum on the plate, perhaps even with a tip.
Never sit down with your hands crossed behind your head.
Each gift should be accompanied by a phrase that is appropriate for that occasion and a signature.
Enthusiastically thank the person who offered the gift attempting to disguise any disappointment.
